What You'll Do

  • We are searching for a Vehicle Systems and Electronics Integration Engineer.
  • This position is a core member of the technical team integrating cutting-edge powertrain electronics, FCEV/EV architecture, and vehicle systems as well as performing electronics integration, testing, and validation. Learning and applying the latest technology is critical for this position.
  • The Vehicle Electronics team is focused on integrating the latest technologies that will set Hyzon Motors vehicles apart from our competitors.
  • This individual will utilize their technical skill set, attention to detail, and quality focus to bring these technologies from the concept phase all the way into production.
  • Develop and release Vehicle System Requirements and Specifications for assigned sub-systems.
  • Develop and enhance the electrical system specification for new and existing systems based on platform requirements, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Interpret and Assist in Development of Software Models from Requirements Specifications, using Model Based Design.
  • Perform design analysis on components, vehicle systems and architectures to verify new requirements can be achieved. This can include investigating Hardware I/O, network architecture, wire harnessing, controller software, and mechanical subsystems.
  • Perform design reviews, safety analyses and develop DFMEAs.
  • Support electrical integration and calibration for systems and vehicles in development.
  • Define and execute System Validation Testing.
  • Support customer and vehicle testing by trouble-shooting electrical systems as necessary.

Qualifications To Be Successful

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with Controls experience
  • 3 plus years relevant product development experience
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and organization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Have

  • Electric Vehicle development experience
  • Good working knowledge of electronic components and communication protocols (CAN, J1939, Ethernet)
  • Experience using Vector CAN tools including CANalyzer
  • Experience with Model Based Embedded System design, using Mathworks MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow, and other relevant development design tools
  • Knowledge of functional safety and electrical safety standards (eg, ISO26262)
  • Previous experience with engineering quality processes (Six Sigma, 8D, CPK, Ishikawa, Kepner-Tregoe, and Safety engineering/DFMEA is preferred.
