Utility Water Maintenance Technician $26.77/hour; 40 hours/week Closing Date: Until Filled High school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, supplemented by four (4) years of experience in industrial, commercial and/or residential electrical maintenance. Must possess or have the ability to pass Biological Water Operator Certification Exam "D" within one (1) year of hire Valid South Carolina Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain one within six (6) months from initial date of employment The Utility Water Maintenance Technician performs skilled work in the inspection, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, instrumentation, soft starts, variable frequency drives, mechanical components, SCADA, programmable logic controls (PLC) pumps, and motors for use in the City's water production plants, booster pump stations, related equipment, facilities, and other City buildings and properties, and to perform other technical work as required. The Utility Water Maintenance Technician works according to some procedures but must be able to work independently to solve problems and complete assignments. Both technical and physical support will be available from Water Production and Maintenance Department staff.
