. $26.63 to $29.29 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Performs skilled technical work supervising utility construction projects countywide. The work involves scheduling and supervising work related to Utility Services Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs) and developer-donated construction projects. Supervision is provided to the Utility Construction Inspectors. REQUIREMENTS: Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in major underground utility construction or directly related underground utility activities, which includes two (2) years in a lead worker or supervisory capacity. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the non-supervisory experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a current Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a current Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must be able to work planned and unplanned overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
