SUMMARY

Utilities Crew Leader position, under the general supervision of the Utilities Field Supervisor, supervises assigned crew members to perform routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance assignments relating to the operation and maintenance of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and vacuum sewer systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D and three (3) years' experience in utility maintenance and construction. Florida Department of Environmental Protection Level 3 Water Distribution License or approved certification in Wastewater Collections or Vacuum Sewer Systems. Florida Class B CDL (Commercial Driver License) with airbrakes and tanker endorsements. Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Work is primarily performed outdoors; therefore, employee may be exposed to a variety of weather conditions including excessive heat, humidity, cold, wind, or rain. May experience intermittent exposure to disagreeable odors from grease, waste, and other malodorous conditions, as well as occasional elevated noise levels.

PROBATION:
All positions serve a one (1) year probationary period

HOLIDAYS:
We have 13 paid holidays per year. Police Holiday is paid or comp'd at ten (10) hours for holiday except birthday which is at 8 hours. Birthday is an additional paid holiday but must be requested approved by supervisor, and taken in the same week as the birthday occurs.

PERSONAL LEAVE TIME:
Accrues weekly from hire date at the rate depending on length of time in service. PLT may be used, paid, after six (6) months.
