Title: Engineering Technician - Hardware Testing

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Duration: 12 months (+Possibilities of extension)

M-F: 8-5

On-Site

Duties:

Electrical troubleshooting of small handheld medical devices, PCBs, and equipment. Precise

soldering of small electrical components (e.g. SMT IC's of sizes 0804 to 01005) and other assembly

techniques. Performs engineering experiments, studies, data collection, test execution and report

generation. Assist engineers with preparation of test protocols, technical reports, summaries, and

quantitative analysis. Follows industry standards, internal operating procedures and quality policies.

Develop and perform tests & test methods and evaluate results to assess the maturity & robustness of

product design elements and entire product from early concept stage until final solution. Performs

research and analysis of various technologies and state-of-the art regulatory standards and

determines applicability to current product development and test efforts.

Use, development and management of existing and new infrastructure:

Qualification, validation, maintenance and usage tracking of test equipment and tools

Material and chemical handling and disposal

Maintain and further develop existing verification methods and ensure ?state-of-the-art?

Development & definition of standards and best practices

Maintains cleanliness and order of labs and work areas

Support product care related activities regarding product design in alignment with Product Support

functions (e.g. Operations, Quality), including detailed investigation of complaints from the market.

Works independently and as an integrated team member under direction of the Engineering manager

and senior engineers. Interfaces with internal customers, external partners, vendors, and suppliers.

Skills:

Electronics troubleshooting, soldering, and prototyping.

Ability to read and understand standards, specifications, schematics and PCB layout files.

Operation of electrical and mechanical lab equipment and tools.

Strong understanding and usage of computers and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel,

PowerPoint, Google Mail, Calendar and cSuite, along with other custom applications.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Education:

Electronics technician certification or Associates degree in Electrical or Electro-mechanical

Engineering technology, biomedical technology, or equivalent.

4 years related experience with small handheld electronics, modifications and/or

troubleshooting, including precise soldering and testing.

Experience in applying design verification & testing principles in a broad range of technical

assignments

Experience in a regulated product development environment is preferred.
