Unit Manager Job Duties
A unit manager typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
- Ensuring that all staff members are performing their duties effectively and efficiently
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the department or unit, including hiring and training employees and overseeing their performance
- Monitoring inventory levels to ensure that supplies are adequate and ordering more as needed
- Providing leadership and guidance to employees, including coaching them on best practices
- Maintaining a safe work environment by enforcing safety regulations and procedures
- Ensuring that all company policies are being followed and recommending changes when necessary
- Reviewing reports and statistics to identify opportunities for improvement in productivity and efficiency
- Coordinating with other departments such as accounting and human resources to ensure smooth operations
- Developing and enforcing rules and procedures to ensure that the workplace runs smoothly
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license required
