The Position

This position is a member of the TSS Department. The TSS Electrical Engineer will report directly to the TSS Team Leader. This position requires basic knowledge of commercial equipment, strong knowledge of hardware and software.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform satisfactory equipment start-up at Customer locations.
  • Provide correct and adequate equipment training to the Customer's operators and maintenance personnel.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software in-house and in-field.
  • Provide technical support and service to our Customers.
  • Assist in the compilation and content of equipment manuals.
  • Assist Electrical Assembly Department as directed. (Bartell location)
  • The ability to read electrical schematics
  • Promote the sale of Bartell product and services to our Customers.
  • Provide Sales and Marketing personnel with technical assistance as required.
  • Assist in Marketing and R&D trials.
  • Provide feedback to Sales, Marketing and RPG departments through visit reports
  • Follow a Standard Operating Procedure and complete all necessary documentation required per trip requirements.
  • Assist with Customer Support both through email and phone calls
    • Assist with maintaining the 24hr technical support hotline as required

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related, Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or related with 1-3 years of job-related experience; OR a High School/Vocational or Technical Training with 3-5 years of job-related experience
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and software controls preferred

Skills & Relevant Work Experience

  • PLC Skills - Allen Bradley and Siemens preferred
  • Hands-on knowledge of industrial machinery
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills
  • Wiring
  • Circuits
  • Excellent technical communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • Ability to oversee equipment startup and oversee the commissioning process for projects on frequent basis
  • Familiarity with PLC controls and motor drives required
  • Excellent computer skills, including PLC and drive software, knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and AutoCAD required
  • Must be able to react to customer problems and complaints in a professional and courteous manner
  • Driven
  • Customer Interaction or Sales Experience
  • Adhere to programs and activities that are in full compliance with all related Heico Safety Standards. Monitor and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to react quickly to customer problems and complaints in a professional and courteous manner (including intense situations)

Travel Requirements: Up to 65%
