We are seeking our next TSI (Texas Success Initiative) and Transcript Evaluation Specialist who will be all-in on our mission and who will work with students, faculty, staff, and external entities to ensure student credit, college readiness standards, and educational background information is appropriately researched and evaluated. The specialist will assist students in processes related to enrollment, student standing, graduation, and transfer. Requirements EDUCATION Required: Associate's Degree. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree EXPERIENCE Required: One (1) year or more of experience in an office environment with customer service. Preferred: + One (1) year of experience with TSI compliance and transcript evaluation. + Previous work in a secondary or higher educational environment. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES + Review, research, and evaluate incoming transcripts and other records for admissions, college readiness, and/or transfer purposes and update the database(s). + Determine eligibility for graduation with degree/certificate completers. + Interpret and apply academic rules and regulations. + Enter test scores after TSI testing. + Evaluate various workflows including, but not limited to course substitution and credit petitions. + Work all phases of academic and continuing education registration. + Assist with Adult Basic Education, NSO, (New Student Orientation) and other forms of registration. + Trouble-shoot transfer equivalency and registration issues related to course pre-requisite requirements and TSI. + Provide transcript, diploma, and other services to current and former students. + Assist with error correction related to state reporting. + Assist with special records-related assignments including, but not limited to articulated credit, duplicate records, drop/add notifications, etc. + Attend commencement ceremonies and related preparation activities and assist with student line-up. + As an Amarillo College employee, seek knowledge of and pledge to actively engage in a culture of caring striving to serve students, peers and the community by embracing the AC Core Values: Wow, Family, Fun, Innovation, and Yes. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES + Ability to quickly learn and adhere to FERPA, AC, state, and federal policies and procedures. + Ability to interact in a professional manner and de-escalate situations. + Ability to work well with a team or independently, maintaining professional conduct, behavior and attitude at all times. + Ability to be dependable and accountable for work. + Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. + Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with digital signing tools (such as Nitro, Adobe, etc.). + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities. + Ability to meet deadlines while managing potential interruptions. + Ability to work cooperatively with other TSI and Transcript Evaluation Specialist and other staff to accomplish job duty tasks cited above. + Knowledge of Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) ACGM and WECM inventories as well as transfer-related rules. Salary: Amarillo College - Salary Schedules (actx.edu) , Pay grade 8 (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons). Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed. Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.) Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and various other educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision. Travel Expectations: Some travel may be required for staff training/conferences. Employee must comply with all Amarillo College travel rules and policies.
