TSF Construction Supervisor

JOB TITLE: TSF Construction Supervisor DEPARTMENT: Process Operations LOCATION: Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV PAY GRADE: 6 POSITION REPORTS TO: Mill Maintenance & TSF Superintendent EXEMPT NONEXEMPT Robinson Nevada Mining Company operates the Robinson Copper Mine near Ruth Nevada just outside Ely, Nevada. PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION: The tailings construction supervisor manages a crew of 8 regular and 10 seasonal equipment operators and all associated TSF construction related activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Proactively coordinates activities and resources in conjunction with the engineer on record in order to comply with priorities and overall objectives of the TSF construction design. JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow safe work procedures and best practices. Maintain a clean work environment. Is responsible for quality and quantity of work performed by subordinates. Participate in meetings and discussions. Be a role model to others in safe behavior. Be willing and enthusiastic. Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM. REQUIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: High School Diploma or Equivalent. A minimum of three to five (2-3) years mine operations or construction experience preferably in an open pit mine environment or large earthmoving excavation environment. One to two (1-2) years of supervisory experience. A valid Driver's License. PREFERRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: 3-5 years' experience in construction management and/or craft supervision in a similar field of earth works construction. TECHNICAL SKILLS: Focus on Safety. Strong personnel development skills. Strong oral and written communications skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Proven supervisory skills in a union free work environment. Working knowledge of mobile equipment including operating and maintaining such equipment. Basic working knowledge of JDE or equivalent software. Proficiency in the use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to learn new software. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: N/A SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing and supervising a TSF construction crew. Work closely with the engineer on record. Work closely with the Project Construction Coordinator. Train others. Participate in job planning. Handle disciplinary action within the operations department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Heavy: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly. Physical demand requirements are greater than that required for Medium Work.
