Comprehensive stroke center: so inter cranial bleeds with stents, clot removal. Tumors, liver ablations, nephrology tubes, biliary tubes, declot, fistulas, put tunnel line in, LP with chemo. Works closely with critical transport teamAdditional Unit Specific Information: Look for experience IR or Rec Room nurses that have strong monitoring skills, conscious sedation. Critical Care Background a must. If not IR skilled, ER or ICU or PACU with ICU experience works well here. Typical procedure is: roll in room, comfort and safety of patient. Sedation. Nurse is the eyes and ears of the patient. IMC type of acuity for 1 hr. post sedation, can hold up to 2-3 hrs. ICU go back to room to recover when able. Unit does trauma cases. Critical Care primary nurse may stay with patient if it s a 1:1 patient. Radiology does the sedation and monitoring. Manager will post what area they are looking for; could be pre and post and conscious sedation.
