Travel Contract Surgical Scrub Technician (Rochester, NY)
Duties:
- Assist in surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Ensure proper setup and handling of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient information.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues with surgical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all infection control policies and procedures.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Surgical Scrub Technician required.
- Proficiency in a variety of surgical procedures including Ortho, Neuro, Robot, GYN, Urology, General, and Vascular surgeries.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and electronic health records systems.
Requirements:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Ability to be flexible with time schedule and location within the Rochester area.
- Call requirement: 3 call shifts each 6-week time block, including weekends and holidays (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
Compensation:
- Weekly stipend: $1,316.00 (non-taxable)
- Weekly pay rate: $954.00
- Total weekly compensation: $2,270.00
