As the Transportation Fleet Manager for the Apertures Division at Cornerstone, you will oversee and drive strategic initiatives to optimize our private fleet network of over 650 power units nationwide. Reporting to the Director of Fleet Operations, you will serve as the subject matter expert for the Apertures Division. Work closely with various departments to ensure safety & compliance, operational excellence, cost efficiency, and superior customer service. Your role will encompass high-level oversight, strategic planning, and implementation of innovative fleet management concepts, ensuring the sustained growth and efficiency of our transportation operations. This position has a direct reporting fleet supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for fleet operations, aligning with business objectives and market demands
  • Oversee the development and enforcement of fleet safety and compliance standards, policies, and procedures. Ensure adherence to US DOT, state, and local regulations
  • Lead initiatives to optimize delivery network efficiency, reduce logistics costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. Develop strategies for operational improvements and ensure successful deployment
  • Foster collaboration between sales, operations, and other departments to streamline fleet procurement, movement, and management processes.
  • Utilize data collection and analysis for operational and financial reporting. Ensure accurate compliance, mileage, and tax filings as required by federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Investigate and implement innovative logistics network designs and fleet management concepts. Continuously seek and apply new methods and technologies to improve fleet operations
  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient trailer pool management, ensuring accurate tracking, utilization, and distribution of trailers across the network
  • Champion customer solutions related to logistics, addressing issues and opportunities promptly to enhance customer relationships
  • Lead driver retention and recruitment efforts in collaboration with Talent Acquisition and Human Resources. Promote a positive and engaging work environment
  • Develop and implement programs and training to reduce fleet accidents and improve service rates
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of fleet supervisor and local plant teams, providing guidance and support to achieve organizational goals

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in fleet safety and compliance (FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, state regulations), multi-site fleet operations, distribution, and fleet management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of successful leadership, strategic planning, and implementation. Ability to influence, manage and motivate a diverse team
  • Strong business evaluation techniques and analytical skills. Ability to develop and apply data-driven strategies
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with all levels of the organization, from plant-level employees to corporate executives
  • Innovative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to handle challenging situations positively
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with fleet management software
  • Operates with an acute sense of integrity, professionalism, and proactive attitude. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus

  • Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week. Union programs may vary depending on the collective bargaining agreement.

The US base salary range for this Full time position is $100,000 to $120,000 + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
