Transplant Surgery Opening in Des Moines, IA J1 visa support available Position Details - Seeking BC-BE Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgeon to Join one of the Largest Physician-Owned and Governed Multi-Specialty Clinics in the Midwest - Ability to obtain an Iowa state license is required. Applicant must have completed an ASTS fellowship and be Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. - Central Iowas only Transplant Center - High transplant rate and shortest wait time in the country - Perform adult and pediatric kidney transplant surgeries to include transplant nephrectomy, laparoscopic living donor nephrectomy, hepatobiliary surgery, and general surgery in transplant patients - High volume robotic surgery program to include robotic assisted liver and pancreas cancer surgeries and robotic kidney transplants - Responsibilities include pre-transplant management and assessment for transplant, post-transplant care, and immunosuppression management - Participate in strategic planning for continued growth of the program, quality assurance, and performance improvement - Among Wellmarks 18 Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), we are in the top three in the state in terms of Wellmarks Value Index Score (VIS), a measure of quality and outcomes - Achieved a perfect 100% MIPS score in 2017 and 2018; ranked lowest beneficiary cost ACO in the country in 2018 - Physician Engagement in the 94th percentile per Press Ganeys 2020 Engagement Survey - Large referral base within clinic of over 260 multi-specialty providers that serve a population area of 1.3 million - Competitive base salary - Excellent benefits include: 401 (k) profit sharing retirement plan, paid vacation, optional health, dental, vision, long-term disability, long-term care and term life insurance, and flexible spending accounts About the Medical Group: The medical group was established in 1994, and is now one of the largest physician-owned and governed, professionally managed multi-specialty clinics in the Midwest Over 260 physicians and providers practicing in 40+ specialties, averaging 556,000 patient visits annually External referral base that includes 1.3 million Among Wellmark's 18 Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), we are in the top three in the state in terms of Wellmark's Value Index Score (VIS), a measure of quality and outcomes In 2017 and 2018, we achieved a perfect 100% MIPS score; in 2018, we ranked as the lowest beneficiary cost ACO in the country Physician Engagement in the 94th percentile per Press Ganeys 2020 Engagement Survey About the Community: As a state, Iowa has been recognized as Best State to Practice Medicine (WalletHub, 2017 & MDLinx, 2018), Physicians Top Places to Live and Work (Physicians Thrive, 2017), and Best State to Live in America (U.S. News & World Report, 2018).
