Summary:

The Tool and Die Engineer plays a pivotal role in die engineering within the production engineering department, contributing to the planning and design phases of die production. This position focuses on optimizing manufacturing methods for efficiency and quality consistency, along with ensuring the smooth operation of production lines. Collaboration with electrical and mechanical engineers is integral to achieving departmental goals.

Responsibilities:

- Review die drawings and provide feedback to manufacturers.

- Investigate and address root causes of production loss/quality issues.

- Develop maintenance schedules for preventative maintenance and repairs.

- Implement Kaizen principles to enhance existing dies and processes.

- Interpret technical drawings and stay updated on market trends and technological advancements.

- Manage efficient line outfitting, including equipment upgrades and IT system maintenance.

- Research improvement costs and simulate implementation results.

- Make optimal decisions considering budget constraints and stakeholder impacts.

- Enhance production efficiency through precise hypothesis testing and verification.

- Provide support for die maintenance/repair and facility maintenance.

- Oversee supply chain management and inventory control.

Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess vocational training and/or certifications with at least 5 years of manufacturing experience. Proficiency in spreadsheet software, CAD, and programming is preferred.
