As our organization grows, we are seeking to add two motivated team members as Tool and Die Apprentices. The Apprentice program gives an individual the opportunity to learn the tool and die trade through classroom and hands on training experience. Apprentices are trained and supervised by skilled journeymen and will gain their journeyman certification upon completing all the requirements. This program is registered with the Ohio State Apprentice Council.

General Description : Tool and Die Apprentice personnel assist production through maintenance of tooling and dies and customer requests for Maintenance/Repair. Related Technical Instruction will be required during non working hours. Apprentice will be expected to rotate across shifts during term of apprenticeship.
Responsibilities as an Apprentice : - Welding
- Machining, using die room equipment
- Assisting on set-ups
- Assisting on first piece approvals
- Performing routine maintenance on dies and die room equipment
- Recording maintenance data on daily log sheets
- Assisting on press line changes
- Interchanging tooling components
- Repairing Tooling or making new details
- Paralleling for proper set-ups
- Scaling draw punches
- Removing irregularities from dies
- Polishing dies
- Adjusting dies and tooling to meet customer specifications
- Troubleshooting
- Travel to customers to review tooling
- In-house part examinations
- Travel to suppliers to pick-up parts
- Heat Treat of various metals
- Support and administer the Company Safety Program
- Other duties as assigned or required
Who will you work with? - Tool and Die Makers, Other Apprentices, Machinists, Maintenance Team, Technology Team
Your environment: - Collaborative, creative, positive and fast-paced tool and die shop
Preferred Qualifications : - High School Diploma or equivalent with vocational school training a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot
- Knowledge of die repair
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted
- Ability to bend at the knees and hips
- Ability to work on dies in the presses
- Ability to use precision layout and checking tools
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of presses
- Performing repetitive motions with hands and arms
