The Bureau of Correctional Recovery Services works with offenders in Ohio's prisons to instill an improved sense of responsibility and the ability to become law-abiding citizens. Recovery Services-Therapeutic Community Alcohol and Drug Counselors use evidence-based treatment approaches in the treatment of offenders in prison who are in need of substance abuse recovery programming. The Therapeutic Community Alcohol & Drug Counselor may be a great fit for you. What You'll Do: Duties of the Alcohol and Drug Counselor 1 include: At assigned correctional institution, conducts interviews and provides counseling services to clients in the Therapeutic Community Screens clients to determine eligibility for substance use disorder treatment services Completes assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and discharge planning on participants (documented in electronic health record) Participates as an active member of the treatment team Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Hours may vary) Job location: Pickaway Correctional Institution 11781 St. Route 762 Orient, OH 43146 Selected applicant(s) will be required to complete the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction's training at the Corrections Training Academy located in Orient, OH.
