The Proof Tester Operations is position is an hourly Union position that is primarily responsible to document and validate the integrity of all products.
This 1st shift position works with a great team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a high attention to detail, ability and willingness to learn.
- Minimum of two years' experience in a manufacturing environment with basic mechanical aptitude.
- Good working knowledge of Math and Blueprint Reading, including metric dimensions.
- Familiarity with various measuring devices (i.e. Tape measure, Micrometer, Calipers).
- Good verbal communication skills with some level of computer literacy.
- The ability to gain understanding of the basic technology and components involved in chain manufacturing and assembly.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and priorities. Good mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to problem solve ways to creatively test products.
- Ability to work well with others at all levels within the Company and with limited supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Documents and validates the integrity of all products (primary role)
- Recognizes the appropriate work orders and drawings, enters required data into the computer, rigs and pulls the product in a proof test bed to the load required per the drawings and work order.
- Uses crane assist and some manual intervention to manipulate products in and out of the test bed, and rigging product to the required tooling in the test bed.
- Fills out paperwork for every order tested with required information and provides documentation to the shipper.
- Operate three test beds: 220K, 1.2 Mil, and 100K horizontal Chant.
- Works regularly with an assistant (another proof test operator).
