Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Cleaveland Price - Trafford, PA Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Salary Range: $18.00 - $24.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: Negligible Job Shift: 1st Shift Job Category: Engineering Test Lab Technician Position Title: Test Lab Technician Immediate Supervisor Title: Lab Supervisor Department: Mechanical Engineering Location: Trafford, PA Brief Summary of Position Purpose: We are currently seeking a Lab Technician to assist with the operation and maintenance of medium/high voltage switching equipment in our state-of-the-art lab facility. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of experienced engineers and will play an important role in testing and evaluating new and existing products. This position provides a unique opportunity for candidates to apply theory and hands-on capabilities to obtain, design, implement and execute test programs for commercial and military devices under development across a multitude of products and product lines Essential Functions: Capable of repairing a wide variety of electrical, electronic and/or mechanical systems down to the component level. Executes electrical, electronic and/or mechanical test procedures and document test results. Ensures work practices are compliant with all OSHA and ISO standards. Ensures proper utilization of required PPE and task-specific tools and equipment to ensure the highest level of safety for self and others. Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Follows all company and job-specific safety rules and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Assembles, tests, an maintains electrical, electronic and/or mechanical equipment, appliances, and systems Constructs and fabricates parts using hand tools and specifications Tears down and evaluates scrap of completed test assemblies Assist engineering with new designs Assisting with setup and maintenance of lab equipment Conducting routine tests and experiments on med/high voltage switching equipment Recording and analyzing data from experiments Planning and executing test programs with a high level of quality to meet scheduled demands Aid in developing and updating internal lab operating procedures Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Mechanical knowledge and skill application ranging from machine operation to changing parts. Capable of reading mechanical, electrical, electronic schematics down to the component level. Sense to recognize problems between disciplines based on skill and knowledge type and level. Ability to independently identify resources to aid in problem solving. Skill to operate all assigned manual machine tools. Aptitude to use various electrical, electronic and/or mechanical test equipment (i.e. measuring devices, oscilloscopes). Demonstrated proficiency with the following equipment/tools: All basic hand/ manual machine tools including but not limited to screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, diagonals, wrenches, Powered tools such as saws, grinders and impact guns Test equipment such as measuring devices, oscilloscopes, volt readers, force meters, and spring scales Credentials, certifications & Industry-Specific Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer skills, including but not limited to email and other communication tools. Ability to demonstrate required proficiency level/competency to successfully perform job.
