Location This position is located at 900 Washington Ave, Brooklyn, New York, 11225 United States Role Summary The Store Manager leads the team to drive sales by taking an omni-channel approach to the retail experience. Their goal is to deliver an environment that is engaging and inspiring to the customer while fostering continual team development to create a culture of creativity, collaboration, innovation, and trust. Role Responsibilities Customer Experience Cultivates a welcoming environment by being highly focused on delivering exceptional and genuine customer experiences that are engaging and personalized; motivates teams in multiple shops to uphold terrain's four promises: to welcome, to inspire, to inform, and to appreciate our customer Collaborates with the Visual Manager, Display Key Holder, and DBT Artisans on the creation of an engaging visual experience that appeals to the customer through compelling merchandising, display, and plant installations Partners with key leaders to curate events and experiences that are reflective of the interests of the local customer and surrounding community to drive brand engagement Leads team to utilize technology to transact in the moment; prioritizes omni services through all channels (MPOS, POS, ISPU & Curbside Pick Up) to exceed customer expectations Leadership + Team Management Builds productive relationships with members of the store team and brand partners contributing to a culture of strong communication and teamwork; actively participates in managing the store environment and customer experience by facilitating an energized pace, positivity of the team, and management of daily zones Develops a proactive talent planning and hiring strategy, and interviews regularly to build an external network of talent to add different perspectives and experience to terrain; proactively sets goals and delivers feedback for team personal growth Leads the store team and provides operational support to ensure seamless execution of all specialty projects Builds a succession plan for engaging and retaining a diverse team to fuel internal growth; collaborates with store leadership to ensure a thoughtful and equitable onboarding for all new hires to drive a strong brand, customer and store connection Visual + Business Operations Oversees and collaborates with the brand and store leadership team to plan a strategic approach to daily, weekly, and monthly priorities; actively assesses sales forecasts, staff scheduling, and payroll management and flexes to best support the business Analyzes store business using company reporting tools to identify opportunities to drive sales; motivates department leadership to make strategic, creative, and business-impacting decisions to achieve sales goals Collaborates with key partners to implement corporate direction to impact store layout, display, signage, and merchandising; leads timely and effective execution of visual priorities and product flow processes Adheres to store's safety standards, inventory accuracy, reduction of product loss, and upholds all company policy and procedures to support the profitability of the store Communication +Relationships Leads with an inclusive and people-first philosophy; protects time for employees at all levels to encourage open dialogue, reinforce follow through, and ensure that the store team is heard and supported Consistently checks in with leadership to maintain communication and ensure completion of store directives and projects; stays current and responds to all communication in a timely manner while ensuring important company information reaches all levels of the team Provides store and product insights related to the customer experience and communicates to brand leadership and Home Office partners; participates within company forums through sharing store specific scenarios and ideas Mentorship: embraces a culture of development by protecting time with direct reports and consistently delivering feedback for individual personal growth and succession planning; supports new and ongoing development and training needs for brand leadership Role Qualifications Terrain Brand fan 5+ years retail management experience Strong merchant skills and a history of delivering financial results Proven record of hiring and developing great talent Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the store including nights, weekends, and holidays The Perks URBN offers comprehensive Perks & Benefits to employees.
