Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities Ability to teach across the curriculum with specialization preference in adult/primary care nursing. Faculty are assigned a 12-credit hour load each semester. Credit may be earned through teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, direct and indirect clinical supervision, laboratory instruction, and through thesis/special project/dissertation advisement. In addition to classroom and clinical teaching responsibilities, faculty are expected to engage in scholarship/creative activity, service, and student advisement. Required Qualifications Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing: if MSN prepared substantial progress towards the doctorate with anticipated completion within 1 year; and State of Connecticut RN license (or eligible). Evidence of ability to teach university level nursing effectively. Ability to engage in meaningful scholarship/creative activity appropriate for nursing. Preferred Qualifications The successful candidate will demonstrate effectiveness in working with diverse populations. Preference given to candidates with teaching experience at the baccalaureate or graduate level; recent clinical practice as an RN or APRN; certification; doctoral degree in nursing (Ph.D., Ed.D., or DNP), and evidence of scholarship and leadership.
