Position Information (Default Section) Title Temporary Part-time: Nursing Lab Technician Location All locations Department Math, Science & Health Days and Hours Flexible Requisition Number Job Description Travel between Blackwood and the Joint Health Sciences Center in Camden NJ Set up and break down of labs for each course in Blackwood and the Joint Health Sciences Center including return of supplies to assigned storage locations in a timely manner. Set up and break down for staff skill days. Aids faculty and students in the use of laboratory resources. Assist with simulation exercises when needed. Care and maintenance of safe lab spaces; including referral and follow up with facilities for repairs and environmental services for cleaning. Promotes safe lab practices according to OSHA guidelines. Follows guidelines in handling and disposing of hazardous materials. Continually assesses functioning of laboratory equipment and arrange repairs/maintenance with vendors. Completes calibration of simulators/mannequins prior to skills lab delivery Maintenance of linens/carts. Organization and maintenance of the storage areas including all cabinets and shelves/drawers of physical lab spaces to comply with college and OSHA regulations. Maintenance of lab inventory on spreadsheet. Compiles supply order lists for director's approval. Orders supplies to correspond with college laboratory course offerings. Maintains and replaces supplies in collaboration with the Nursing Department Director. Care, cleaning, and maintenance of lab equipment including mannequins and models. Communicates and coordinates with equipment and supply vendors to obtain purchase estimates/quotes/maintenance. Lab purchase order record keeping including quotes, purchases, receipt of goods, and storage locations. Participates in department meetings and department accreditation activities. Participates in nursing budget meetings with the department head. Maintains statistics on student use of nursing skills lab outside of scheduled times (open lab). Maintains statistics on student learning activities offered in the nursing skills lab. Trains and guides work study students in college laboratory duties. Updates Pyxis and prepares simulated medications for use in skills lab. Provide general assistance to the success of laboratory offerings in all Camden County College Nursing courses. Performs other duties as assigned by laboratory coordinator or Director of Nursing Minimum Qualifications Certification as a Medical Assistant, or Patient Care Tech, or Associate degree in Health Science preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Power Point Google Suite Benefits Special Instructions for Applicants Physical Requirements: This position requires standing and bending frequently throughout the day, lifting up to 50 lbs. Availability for travel between college campus locations on a regular basis.
