Temporary Journeyman Level Carpenter

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Maintenance on over 470 facilities on the Fort Richardson side of Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (JBER) to include repair and replacement of windows, doors, drywall patching and painting, roof patching, and various floor replacement (tile, carpet, concrete Patching). In addition, the employee must: Work as a member of a Structural Maintenance Team in support of all contract obligations JBER-BOMS. Monitor, organize, manage, complete and report on tasking issued by Work Control Clerk and BOMS Project Manager. Must demonstrate the ability to appropriately prioritize tasks, the ability to follow direction, and the ability to self-regulate. Apply working knowledge of all elements / phases of construction & construction maintenance. Conduct regular housekeeping of shop area and shared facility space. The work requires repetition of similar functions frequently. Work closely with Facilities Managers (our customers) to understand and complete requested work. Proactive thought to issues that are found at facilities and report them back to management. Other duties as assigned. The position requires significant communication, both verbal and written. Certifications / Licenses Required: U.S. Driver's License. Journeyman Level Carpenter. High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Common Access Card (CAC) or Defense Biometrics Identification System (DBIDS) Card to access and work on JBER.
