Description of Work In collaboration with Advancement Division leadership, develop a concise, compelling Statement of Support message and ancillary materials (brochure, etc.) to appeal to internal, external, private and public financial prospects; Document how financial gifts are fundamental and imperative to ECSU's growth and effectiveness; Review current resource development history, institutional capacity and potential for program expansion: website link, software, planned giving message; Study past and current donor database: assess inventory of existing planned gifts and major gifts received from alumni and other individuals; Visit staff at UNC system office to review a pre-qualified list of donor prospects and be briefed on the financial instruments and donor management system used; Confer with VC of Advancement and VC Fiscal Affairs to determine the financial instruments to be used in ESCU planned giving program; Identify25to50donorprospectstodevelopstrategyandinitiatecontactstocultivate,solicit and secure gifts up to and exceeding $250,000 from prospective donors during the initial ten months of services; schedule one-on-one personal visits with two to three major gift/planned giving prospects per month; Develop action plan/calendar with emphasis on the first ten months; Collaborate with ECSU University Advancement staff and North Carolina system staff to create and execute a sustainable major gift and planned giving program; Participate in training and engagement with members of North Carolina System office; Participate in planned giving presentations for alumni chapters, fraternal and other regional groups. Continuous Posting- This posting may be used to fill multiple temporary assignments across campus as opportunities become available. This position provides clerical support services for the university. Duties vary by department and assignment. Responsibilities may include: general office reception, mail distribution, records processing, data entry, filing, correspondence, appointment scheduling, general accounting, etc. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position Excellent oral and written communication skills combined with a strong customer service orientation are essential. Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are highly desirable.
