Spend an incredible summer working with kids at Camp Zeke. Camp Zeke celebrates healthy, active living through whole foods, sports, fitness, and culinary arts. We are located on 560 serene acres in Northeastern, PA, and have campers ages 7-17. Camp Zeke is seeking enthusiastic and mission-aligned unit head to work in the male division from June 17th to August 11th.

Job Description:

The job of male unit head is an integral role at Camp Zeke. It is a leadership role with many facets, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that our campers have an amazing time and that our staff strive to be the best they can be, while creating a warm and inviting community.

The unit head will be responsible for overseeing the well-being and care of the campers and staff in one of five units in camp. Unit leaders will meet daily to review bunk logs which are completed by the counselors in their unit and which cover issues and concerns in regard to their campers. They will coordinate calls home to parents and will communicate with parents as needed. Unit heads will assist with announcements and orders during meal times. They will coordinate with our camper care team on issues related to campers that require attention. Unit heads will actively participate and assist throughout the day in the camps programs, helping to inspire counselors and campers to live the mission of camp active healthy living.

Qualifications:

Unit heads should have some prior camp or communal service experience as educators, social workers, youth group leaders and community center workers. They should have prior leadership and management experience with good problem-solving skills. They should be creative, patient, organized and caring. Qualified candidates must be available for the full season and be willing to live on camp for that time period. Unit heads must have at least a bachelor's degree or a graduating college senior. A degree in psychology, social work or a related field would be helpful, yet not required.
