Job Details and Requirements Section

Can you give us an overview of the project this resource would be working on and what the day-to-day activities would look like? Routing of hydraulic lines, pneumatic lines, only some drilling. Integrations of aircraft. A&P background would be great.

Are there other positions or job titles with similar responsibilities and qualifications to the one we are hiring for in other companies? Just different levels. Avionics support, even test experience.

What kind of PPE will they need, if any? Will be supplied by BO.

Is this new headcount or a backfill? New headcount. Behind on the build, undermanned on B shift.

How large of a team are they working on? 10 total plus contractors. Eventually 23 -30 people.

Is team currently on site, remote or combination? Onsite.

What does training for this role look like (if any)? Online training, torque class, safety harness. Maybe 1 weeks worth. Training will be on B shift.

Will any of the following be required for this position: overtime, travel, on call, weekends, off hours? Average 10 hour shifts.

Any chance the role can extend to 24 months or convert to FTE?

Candidate Detail Section

What are the programs, technologies, and certifications that are useful for them to already know? Are there any must-have skills? Anything aviation related, strong mechanical experience. Possible automotive experience.

What non-technical Skills are necessary (such as communication, problem solving, team player, i.e.)? Attention to detail. Character, humble, high integrity.

Ideal Candidate background and how many years required? Skill level 2: 2-5 years, skill level 3 is 5 to 8 years.

Confirm required education? High School, tech schools help.

Supplier questions:

Military interest? Definitely a plus, especially aviation related. Airframe/powerplant experience.

Potential differences in the initial roles with these? Overall the same but this group is doing the assembly.

Any area you might need more than others? What is most important skill set? Avionics experience, hydraulic tubing/routing experience.

Ringlock/Swedgelock experience is a plus.

Will they use heavy equipment? Contractors will not use forklifts or cranes.

How soon looking to make offers? As soon as possible.

B shift: Monday - Friday 2pm - 10:30pm

Responsibilities:

Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn (GS1) First Stage Booster according to written procedures.

Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.

Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles.

Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.

Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations and other ground support equipment as required.

Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instruments.

Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.

Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD

Ability to work off-shift, extended overtime, and weekends if/when vital.

Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.

Qualifications:

2-6+years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field

Experience in at least one of the following is required: fluids and tubing install, instrumentation and electrical harness routing, general Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly.

Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions and test procedures.

Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds

Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person.

Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.

Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas.

Work at Heights on work stands and in lifts.

Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 35lbs.

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field

Proven success as a hands-on technical leader

Work optimally with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities

Experience in handling large aerospace components

Experience in assembling large tight tolerance structures.
