Role: Technician - Integration

Location: Merritt Island, FL

B shift: Monday - Friday 2pm - 10:30pm

Description:

Responsibilities:

Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn (GS1) First Stage Booster according to written procedures.

Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.

Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles.

Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.

Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations and other ground support equipment as required.

Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instruments.

Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.

Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD

Ability to work off-shift, extended overtime, and weekends if/when vital.

Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.

Qualifications:

2-6+years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field

Experience in at least one of the following is required: fluids and tubing install, instrumentation and electrical harness routing, general Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly.

Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions and test procedures.

Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds

Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person.

Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.

Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas.

Work at Heights on work stands and in lifts.

Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 35lbs.

Desired:

Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field

Proven success as a hands-on technical leader

Work optimally with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities

Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it

Experience in handling large aerospace components

Experience in assembling large tight tolerance structures.

Experience in new product introduction

Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment

Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification

Ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs.

Military experience

Desired Skills:

2-5 years aerospace or related aviation integration experience. (High pressure systems, hydraulics, wire harness routing, installation of hardware, and associated brackets, structures experience a plus)
