Position Summary What you'll do Assists with mail processing by removing mail from envelopes and packages; removing staples; repairing tears and holes with tape; removing creases in paper; and barcoding and batching mail to be electronically imaged into the EMS mail system. Assists with scanning of new and backfile mail into the evidence management system (EMS) by collecting completed batches; sorting batches by date and type; redirecting requests to team leader/hourly supervisor for auditing purposes; determining if mail is new or backfile, if the batch is photo or black or white, and if it should be scanned in simplex or duplex format; scanning new and backfile mail; documenting the scan date, scan ID, chronological number of batch, and initials on the cover sheet; ensuring proper alignment of images and order of documents and protecting against multi-feed errors; and monitoring for and correcting scanner paper jams and issues. Manages electronic digital evidence by converting CD images from original format into pdf format; researching ClaimZone for appropriate claims; opening EMS attachments within ClaimZone system; uploading files; labeling and filing processed CDs and DVDs; transferring video files from the DVD to shared folder; setting tasks within ClaimZone; providing a description with instructions on where to view claim videos; selecting priority, category, and reminder date; and filing of processed CDs and DVDs for file retention storage. Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
