Technician

Job Description: The Quality Technician I conduct dimensional inspections and documentation verification of purchased components to ensure compliance with all required quality and performance standards. The Quality Technician reports in through the Quality Function.
" Conducts dimensional inspections of purchased components and raw materials.
" Performs First Piece inspection reports.
" Verifies the accuracy of material certificates and test reports from suppliers.
" Assigns internal heat codes to materials received from suppliers.
" Performs when required any of the in-process inspections and tests carried out in the assembly process, including positive material Identification tests, hardness tests, paint thickness tests, hydro tests, visual examinations of welds and others as required.
" Performs when required weld Liquid Penetrant test examinations to level I.
" High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
" Three years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
" Strong attention to detail and ability to detect defects in products.
" Must be able to interpret basic blueprints specifications, diagrams, and other written instructions.
" Strong visual abilities: able to visually identify defects, annual vision examen required.
" Experience using calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, hardness testers, optical comparators, thickness testers, XRF analyzers and others.
" Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
