SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Technology Services Assistant Director, performs skilled repair and maintenance of all technology related equipment as well as technical support for all technology related systems. Provides technical support to users including, but not limited to, technical advice on equipment setup and operation, general troubleshooting, and software installation
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSNODUTIESPrimaryUnder the direction of the Technology Services Assistant Director, performs skilled repair and maintenance of all technology related equipment as well as technical support for all technology related systems. Provides technical support to users including, but not limited to, technical advice on equipment setup and operation, general troubleshooting, and software installation
1Install district-standard hardware, software, peripheral and non-computer equipment, and technology upgrades.2Troubleshoot and repair or replace client hardware.3Maintain accurate reporting of work performed using enterprise-level ticket tracking system.4Identify architectural and design issues related to technology.5Participate in the research and evaluation of software and hardware based on given parameters.6Participate in the development of new specifications for computers, software, and peripherals.7Actively participate in inventory management database of hardware and software.8Use various client imaging technologies and techniques for operating systems such as Windows and Macintosh Operating System (Mac OS).9Maintain competency in current operating systems, desktop computer hardware, and peripherals used in the district.10Use logical problem determination skills and procedures to isolate faults in computer and peripheral software, hardware, and communicates and implements the repairs.11Assist users in all phases of computer systems.12Maintain microcomputer applications, communications, and utility programs.13Conform to safety standards, as prescribed. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience with TCP/IP
- Experience with LAN/WAN networking
- Previous experience with or training in technology applications
- Proficiency in use of operating systems
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Organization and planning skills
- Associate's degree (or two (2) years of college) in a technology field
- Bachelor's degree in a technology field preferred
- A+ Certification preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDSMedium Work: Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, and/or moving 10-25 pounds frequently.
Heavy Work: Occasionally lifting up to 75 pounds, and/or frequently moving 25-50 pounds, and/or constantly moving 10-20 pounds.
