Overview VTG is seeking a Technical Writer to support Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division with their Depot Level Engineering efforts for NATO SEASPARROW Surface Missile System. What will you do?
• Technical editing of Technical Repair Standards in accordance with MIL-DTL-24784/7 which includes but is not limited to; proofreading, collaborating on analyzing edits, implementing redlines (authoring), and troubleshooting format as required.

• Perform reviews and technical editing of Technical Repair Standards to align all source documents into the same format.

• Draft Engineering Change Proposals based on approved Engineering Investigation Request.

• Support analysis and tracking of engineering inputs and metrics to support technical requirements and program reviews including: o Performance and Organizational management metrics o Program resource support plans o Integrated Master Schedules o Program Briefings and Technical papers

• Provide continuous improvement of processes by analyzing/revising data and standard operating procedures.

• Provide editing using the following but not limited to, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator, or AutoCAD.

• Perform administrative reviews of Standard Operating Procedures and revise based on feedback reports. Do you have what it takes? Proficiency in the following Microsoft Office software: Excel (Pivot Tables, Gantt Charts, Formulas), Word, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook

• Proficiency in Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Pro, Adobe Illustrator, or AutoCAD. Minimum three years technical writing experience. Ability to obtain valid U.S. government secret clearance. For remote position, must be within reasonable travel distance to an NMCI enabled facility for periodic hardwiring of NMCI assets. Prior US Navy Technical Writing experience Current active US Government Secret security clearance is preferred Previous experience with US Navy combat systems
