Description JOB DESCRIPTION : The Technical Order Editor is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the Technical Order Department. Must have the ability to provide effective leadership to coordinate efforts of a highly skilled workforce; works with a high level on independence in identifying, evaluating and resolving issues affecting the Technical Order Department. Qualifications BASIC REQUIREMENTS : Minimum of ten (10) years' of work experience in a U.S. Air Force PMEL. Experience with U.S. Air Force Calibration Procedure Technical Orders. Good written and oral English communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word) required. Understanding of the U.S. Air Force Equipment Management System and Federal Supply System. Good working knowledge of metrology and calibration principles, practices and issues in the RF/Microwave (K3/K4) section. Particularly in the areas of Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Electronic Counters and Network Analyzers. Understanding of metrology mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate test accuracy ratios/test uncertainty ratios, root sum squared calculations and simple uncertainty analysis. Excellent documentation and customer service skills. Travel may be required. Must be a US Citizen; Must be eligible for or have successfully completed a National Agency Check investigation within the last ten (10) years. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES : Essential Duties: Responsible for the overall operation and performance of the Technical Order Department. Establishes and maintains effective control plans and procedures for resource utilization, scheduling, cost reporting, etc. Develops and implements operations and support schedules consistent with USAF requirements. Read commercial data and other materials to become familiar with specific calibration methodologies and product test parameters. Coordinate Technical Order development and changes with Air Force Metrology and Calibration (AFMETCAL). Non-Essential Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Occasionally-Climbing, Stooping, Kneeling Often-Reaching, Standing, Sitting, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Talking, Hearing, Seeing Lifting/Moving Requirements-Up to 20 pounds ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Normally works in environmentally controlled area.
