About the role Overall responsibility for creating end user demand, building relationships with Lighting and Energy Solutions (LES) current and potential customers, and achieving sales goals within a given territory. This position will focus the majority of time with electrical contractors, distributors, architects, lighting designers, engineers and end users. The Specialist, Technical Sales I will focus on generating end user demand for LES' products to enhance sales and support sales reps, agents, and Regional Sales Managers. This is a technical sales position. Responsibilities Develop an annual sales plan in conjunction with corporate sales and budget goals Develop strong relationships with electrical contractors, distributors, architects, lighting designers, engineers and end users Conduct technical, sales, and product trainings, contractor certifications, etc. Where possible, establish LES as approved and preferred for use in specifications; coordinate specification of LES products in project design Further develop the technical expertise necessary to sell Leviton products in each Business Unit Manage agent issues to include working with, and motivating agency personnel (if applicable) Provide service and support to LES customers pre, during, and post project completion in a timely, accurate manner Maintain field intelligence on competitor's activities and new product developments Work collaboratively with Inside and Outside Sales Reps within Business Unit on joint sales activity Report activities of the sales territory on a monthly basis to the Regional Sales Manager Serve as the LES point of contact for end user accounts Serve as a technical product expert for all Leviton products the specialist is responsible for Certain specialists will be required to manage a sales territory size up to $2.5 million Track and close orders Work with Distribution sales team on joint sales activity Participate in local IES, AIA and DLF meeting activities Communicate with Product Management on product design/issues Coordinate and participate in local and regional trade shows, as required Qualifications Possess strong leadership, relationship-building, and relationship management skills Outstanding oral, written and verbal communication/presentation skills as well as negotiation skills Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint High level of comfort in communicating with every level of an organization from top level executives to field personnel High level of technical expertise, demonstrated by a technical degree and/or several years of proven experience in a highly technical industry Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree, technical degree strongly preferred 4 to 8+ years' of experience selling LES products or comparable experience selling similar products in the lighting and building control industry Travel 70% What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance programs 401K plans with employer-matching contributions Tuition reimbursement PTO Paid holidays Volunteer time off For more information about benefits, please go to: Leviton is an EEO/AA Employer.
