Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable data processing and analytics solutions using Databricks Databricks SQL and PySpark.
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes to integrate disparate data sources into a cohesive data ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver innovative solutions that support the Property & Casualty Insurance domain.
  • Ensure the reliability and performance of data pipelines and architectures.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in data processing and analytics platforms.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions contributing technical insights that shape our data strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
Position Qualifications:

Required skills:

  • 10+ years in an IT related role
  • Proven expertise in Databricks Databricks SQL PySpark and ETL processes is essential.
  • Strong background in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain with a deep understanding of industry challenges and data requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and development in the field of data engineering and big data technologies.
  • Ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members driving projects to successful completion.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $95,000 - $140,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
