Description Technical Inspector Submarine Sonar Systems San Diego, CA Responsibilities: Position is for a Technical Inspector in the area of US Navy Submarine Sonar systems to provide material assessment support and crew training to U.S. Navy ships, located in both CONUS and OCONUS, conducting INSURV Material Inspections as a representative of the Board of Inspections and Survey. Position requires the Technical Inspector to inspect all variants of submarine installed SONAR systems and associated support equipment in accordance with INSURV Inspection Guides. Salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000 per year. Requirements: Must be a US Citizen with a Secret Security Clearance Highly skilled, experienced former U.S. Naval officers or senior naval enlisted (CPO/SCPO/MCPO) with shipboard tours, tours as INSURV inspectors, ISIC/TYCOM Staff, or Afloat Training Group members are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have at least 10 years of Navy or Maritime experience or equivalent technical expertise (inspection task driven) for inspecting Submarine Sonar systems. Candidates should have experience in the techniques and processes of conducting visual and operational material inspections. Candidates should have experience and working knowledge of shipboard Preventive Maintenance System and technical documentation (manuals, NAVSEA Drawings, class advisories etc.) for Submarine Sonar systems. Candidates should experience and working knowledge of Navy inspection standards and references (GSO, NSTMs, Tech Manuals, MRCs and applicable NAVSEA, OPNAV, NAVSUP guidelines, etc.) for Material Inspection (MI) and Trials (AT/FCT). Candidates should have at least 3 years technical proficiency inspecting for material condition in Submarine Sonar systems. Candidates should, possess and maintain physical standards for embarkation of Naval Vessels. Candidates should be proficient in standard office software application skills (i.e. MS Word, Excel); capable of compiling and inputting deficiencies and inspection data into government furnished software. Candidates should possess and maintain a valid US Passport and a valid US Driver's License.
