Duties You will perform assignments involving the categorization, summarizations, or location of scientific, technical, or specialized information in one of more subject matter areas. You will analyze, organize, and categorize information in a variety of formats. You will ensure technical data library databases are accurate and current, and fully accessible by technical data library personnel. You will keep current with new developments in the subject field of specialization and contribute to the improvement in technical library processes and procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations. You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications For the NO-02 Position: Your resume must demonstrate at least four years of experience that provided a knowledge of the basic principles, theories, practices, techniques, and terminology of a discipline or subject-matter field; an understanding of the standard methods, procedures, and techniques of research and analysis in the subject-matter field; and where appropriate, ability to read and comprehend nontechnical material in one or more foreign languages. Such experience must have been equivalent to that which would have been gained through a 4-year college curriculum. For the NO-03 Position: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (NO-02/GS 5-10) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Demonstrating knowledge of the methods, techniques, concepts, and principles of cataloging and classifying information; 2) Providing expertise in organizing, accessing, or disseminating technical information in a specialized subject-matter area to meet users' needs for specialized and complex information; 3) Anticipating and evaluating specialized customer requirements for a wide variety of technical information and acquiring information through procurement process to fulfill those requirements; 4) Recommending technical data handling guidelines to improve consistency in application of technical data management rules and procedures. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: Education In lieu of experience, applicants may qualify with the following educational substitutions: For the NO-02: A full 4-year course of study that meets all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in the subject-matter field of the position to be filled. OR A combination of education and experience For the NO-03: 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education or doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) related to the position.
