Want to be part of the team? Apply today. We look forward to meeting you. The Role Selected candidates will work at Newport News Shipbuilding 8 hours each day on July 8-12 and July 15-18, 2024. This is a paid internship program, however benefits are not provided. This intense internship will be EXTREMELY rigorous and physically demanding and will require the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites every day, including those aboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul, including the use of vertical and inclined ladders, and may involve limited kneeling, stooping, standing, etc. This is an industrial heavy manufacturing environment. Must Have Be a currently employed (full-time) and certified STEM curriculum middle-school, high school, Trade School/Community College instructor/teacher or guidance counselor in the local Hampton Roads, VA geographic area Currently teaching STEM curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) or teaching vocational/trades programs. Must be able to work 40-hours per week (Monday - Friday 7:00am-330pm for two consecutive work weeks, 8 hours each day on July 8-18, 2024 Successfully complete a criminal background investigation, hair follicle drug screen, and physical.
