The Teacher provides group and individual instruction to children with autism and additional disabilities and will work with a team that includes speech, occupational and physical therapists, behavior consultants, and classroom support staff in a specialized setting. The Teacher is responsible for establishing classroom schedules and routines, addressing the individual needs of each child as described on the IEP, adapting methods and materials, collaborating with therapists, consultants and parents, participating in the development of IEP's, taking data on each child's strengths and needs, providing formal and informal progress reports to the family and the team, providing effective child supervision and care, supervising classroom support staff, and communicating effectively and supportively to families.
