BRAIN INJURY REHABILITATION RECREATION THERAPIST Summary/objective: Cedarburg Brain Injury Rehabilitation recreation therapist will provide treatment focused interventions designed to restore, re-educate, and rehabilitate a resident's level of functioning promoting independence in life activities, reduction of activity participation barriers, and reintegration into their community. Position Details: Full time 1st shift Essential Functions: Creates, plans, implements, facilitates, and evaluates therapeutic recreation programming based on assessment of patient's needs Completes all required therapeutic documentation including initial patient evaluations, assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries Responsible for keeping recreation supplies neat and orderly Able to transport patients to and from programs Possesses a wide array of recreation knowledge, skills, and modalities Facilitate collaborative relationships with all disciplines to promote a positive patient centered approach to care Professional communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to identify concerns and issues and provide ideas for resolution Ability to self direct and complete job tasks with minimal supervision Flexibility with schedule changes and work assignments Exhibit knowledge of least restrictive intervention strategies and utilize redirection when necessary to maintain patients' safety Ability to maintain a professional therapeutic rapport with patients Required education and experience: Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification issued by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification CPR/First aid certified Computer proficiency with Microsoft products Preferred education and experience: Brain injury knowledge/experience Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation or similar field Skills, knowledge, and abilities: Valid WI drivers license with a clean record preferred Independent, self-directed, flexible, creative Organized, problem solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefit packages which includes: Health insurance for full-time employees starting the first of the month following 30 days of employment Dental and vision insurance for full and part-time staff 401(K) Program for full and part-time staff 6 paid holidays plus one floating holiday for full-time staff Company paid life insurance for full-time staff Voluntary life and disability insurance for full-time staff Paid Time Off Our mission is to establish a culture that reinforces the values necessary to be the premier health services provider and employer in each of the communities we serve.
