We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an Tax Projects Associate to join the team in our Bethesda office. This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees are expected to alternate time between both remote and office. This position will support our Tax team. You will work on a team with other Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners. This team has a passion for what they do and a focus on consistently delivering value to our clients.

YOUR ROLE.

As a Tax Projects Associate in our Bethesda office, you will be responsible for becoming familiar with accounting and tax compliance processes and procedures in accordance with firm standards in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Monitor activity in Client sites
  • Maintain client document request lists and timely follow up on outstanding items.
  • Review and verify completion of engagement milestones using GoFileroom and other firm tracking resources
  • Monitor and track Federal and State filings as needed
  • Monitor and track Efile Authorization and follow up with clients as needed
  • Resolve minor e-file diagnostics. If diagnostics cannot be resolve, then proactively follow up with appropriate engagement team members
  • Liaison with firm Resource Management and engagement teams on short term and long-term staffing needs.
  • Assist in preparation: Engagement letters
  • Participate in client and engagement planning meetings to develop an understanding of client needs.
  • Develop a understanding of the firm processes and systems related to tax compliance engagements

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role or in a tax compliance role
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-based culture
  • Able to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Project management or work flow management
  • Possess strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Prior coursework in accounting is a plus
  • Previous job/internship experience in accounting, bookkeeping and/or data entry is a plus
