Responsibilities of Tax Manager Accountant:

  • Prepare REIT compliance tests, including quarterly asset and annual income tests.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision calculations and footnote.
  • Prepare annual earnings and profits calculation and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with annual REIT taxable income projections.
  • Responsible for federal, state, and local tax compliance, including the preparation of
    accurate federal and state estimated payment and extension calculations and forms.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of tax return supporting schedules,
    including tax consolidations, tax depreciation, and state apportionment.
  • Coordinate and interact with outside accounting firms for certain outsourced tax return
    preparation services and other projects as needed.
  • Assist with tax audits, including sales tax audits, as needed.
  • Complete federal and state and local tax research as needed.
  • Ensure and document compliance with internal controls. Coordinate and update
    process documentation as needed.
  • Interact with accounting and other departments especially in regards to ensuring
    financial data is accurate.

What the company needs in a Tax Manager Accountant:

  • CPA is a PLUS
  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
  • MUST have REIT experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Excellent technical accounting experience. Ability to research authoritative literature for proper accounting treatment.
  • Extensive spreadsheet knowledge required.
  • Ability to work with a team and ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary: 120,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
