This position will lead all global aspects of income tax at Focus. The Tax Director will manage all aspects of the income tax function including the tax compliance process globally, preparing all income tax provision calculations, tax financial reporting and M&A structuring.

This position has significant exposure throughout the organization, including with the private equity sponsors and outside tax lawyers.

This role is based inNew Hyde Park, NY.

Primary Responsibilities

- Oversee the preparation and filing of all corporate and partnership tax returns, including federal, state, local, and international tax filings

- Lead all M&A activities from a tax perspective, including structuring, due diligence and integration

- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and M&A teams regarding tax aspects of all business strategies

- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements

- Manage preparation of income tax provision under ASC 740 and tax-related financial disclosures

- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact the company's tax position.

- Manage outside tax advisors including outsourced tax compliance firm

Qualifications

- CPA with a bachelor's in accounting, a master's or LLM in tax, and CPA license

- Minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in tax, with a strong focus on corporate and partnership taxation

- Experience in tax efficient M&A structuring and tax due diligence

- Prior Big 4 or equivalent experience

- In-depth knowledge of US federal, state, and international tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

- Prior experience leading and managing a team of corporate tax professionals.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts to non-tax team members

- Ability to monitor changing tax laws and regulations and proactively identify tax-related risks and opportunities.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $225,000-$275,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other components may include an annual cash bonus, equity grant, and a comprehensive benefits package.
