Job Details

Our esteemed law firm is seeking an experienced Tax Attorney (Sr. Associate or Counsel level) to join the team.

Is your background a match?
JD degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the state bar and in good standing
7+ years of experience as a tax attorney
Extensive knowledge of tax law as it relates to exempt organizations including private foundations/ public charities, structure & formation, charitable gift planning, and taxable income strategy and planning
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
High ethical standards and professionalism
Provide cover letter, (2) writing samples and transcript

What will you be doing?
Provide legal advice on a wide range of tax matters, including but not limited to, formation of business entities, registration with tax and other regulatory agencies, and the drafting and revising of operating agreements and other governance documents
Serve as corporate counsel to nonprofit organization clients and representing clients in matters before the Office of the Attorney General, the IRS , the Department of Revenue Services, the Probate Courts, and other authorities, as needed
Advise on structure and tax-related issues associated with venture philanthropy collaborations, donor-advised funds, private foundations, and corporations
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax law and regulations
Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities
Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals to provide comprehensive legal services
