Job Details

The Tax Analyst located in Hartford, CT is a position that reports to the Director of Tax & Compliance and provides support through the Tax Department to all locations nationwide and their corresponding accountants and operations teams. The Tax Analyst must be motivated, detail oriented and demonstrate a team-first attitude and willingness to navigate complex company and client tax issues.

Responsibilities:

Assists with the corporate tax functions providing internal support to our outside CPA firm.
Supports M&A initiatives.
Manages audit requests, data, and documentation flow, as well as research audit defense positions, and processes refund requests of large upscale refunds.
Develops and implements best practices and process improvement documentation.
Obtains tax clearances monthly.
Ongoing review, supervision and sign-off from sales and parking tax return preparation, assist with preparation and review of personal property declarations, business tax returns, potential refund claims and other tax filings, sales and use tax.
Oversees the processing of timely and accurate tax registrations for sales/use, parking and business taxes in multiple jurisdictions.
Performs internal audits of current practices, spot checks/audits of tax filings and preparation of tax standard operating procedures (SOP) and development of any remediation plans required.
Supports the research of new tax policies, lines of business and service offerings.
Research tax regulations in prospective markets.
Supports our external tax advisors as needed for income tax filings.
Analyze and provide estimated tax reserves monthly for month-end financial reporting purposes.
Performs contract and RFP review (from a tax perspective).
Interacts with management clients on an ad hoc basis.

Education

BS degree in accounting or similar
3-5 years of tax experience
