The position is responsible for providing the daily resource support to the Hospital related to equipment, instrumentation, sterile and non-sterile supplies. The CPD Technician coordinates the activities engaged in decontaminating, cleaning, processing, assembling, storing, and distributing sterile and non-sterile trays and supplies. The hourly rate range for this position is $19.00 - $29.00. Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent Minimum Experience/Knowledge: Prefer one-year experience in an OR/CSPD environment. Experience in Acute Care hospital preferred. Minimum one year experience working with hospital equipment preferred. Thorough knowledge of handling and cleaning of all medical equipment per recommended infection control guidelines. Thorough knowledge of sterile technique as it relates to handling of supplies and equipment. Able to mobilize equipment timely to areas needing equipment. Assists with performing stock inventories and restocking of supplies or instrumentation for operating room or CSPD as need arises. Must be extremely organized. Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior. Thorough knowledge of surgical instruments and supplies utilized within the perioperative arena. Ability to speak, read, and writes English. Computer literacy preferred. Required License/Certification: Surgical Technology or Central Service Certification preferred at time of hire. Required within six months of employment and maintained throughout employment by Hospital.
