The Reagent Formulations Associate Technician for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is part of a formulation team responsible for the manufacturing of large volume reagents used in the medical diagnostics field. This role is critical to the healthcare industry and to allow doctors and lab technicians to diagnose patients quickly and accurately all over the world.

This position is part of the Production Operations Department located in Carlsbad, CA and will be working onsite. The Vision of Beckman Coulters production operation team is to ensure the advancement and optimization of the laboratory in order to move science and healthcare forward.

You will be a part of the Production Operations team and report to the Supervisor of Production Operations responsible for aqueous formulations. If you thrive in a fast paced, detail-oriented role and want to work to build a world-class, quality focused manufacturing organization-read on.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Complete reagent formulations including mixing, adjusting pH, testing on various equipment

• Adhere to SOPs, detailed processes, safety regulations, and contamination controls

• Support production teams across the site in addition to their primary team. This may include requests to work hours outside of the normal shift as necessary to support customer production demand.

• Regular use of computers for routine tasks, data generation and analysis, time reporting, online training, email, etc.)

• Calibration and regular maintenance of instrumentation

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Associates in Science (AS) degree with 2-3 years industry experience OR Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with 0-1 years industry experience. Focus on chemical and/or biological sciences preferred

• Science knowledge of basic lab techniques such as pH adjusting, and buffer prep preferred

• 0-1 Years related experience in a GMP /GLP lab

• Willing to handle/work with hazardous chemicals while wearing appropriate PPE

• Ability to work equally well independently and as part of a team.

• Basic computer skills (MS office, Outlook, timekeeping, etc.)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Ability to stand for long periods of time

• Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking
