Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a Jr. Systems Engineer to support the Peraton Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract for our NASA customer based in Greenbelt, MD (GSFC). This position will allow for 100% telework, with travel to the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD and other NASA locations, as needed. As prime contractor on the Peraton Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment and systems engineering of NASA's worldwide satellite communication networks. Join the SENSE team to support NASA programs that integrate with state-of-the-art RF satellite ground communications systems and technologies. In this position, you will become part of NASA's return to the moon, support new earth and space science missions, and launch vehicles. You will be an integral part of a world class team that builds and ensures NASA space-ground communications are reliable and meet mission requirements. This position will provide systems engineering duties for our advancement of the quantum communications and Lunar/Lagrange ground station capabilities for NASA. Duties include: Researching quantum compressive sensing and other techniques
Benchmarking an Amazon Bracket quantum cloud service Using Systems Engineering techniques Prepare for and conduct analysis and reports
Supporting the Lunar/Lagrange ground station efforts
Lead and perform trade studies
Interfacing with customers, external partners, and internal partnersQualifications Required Qualifications: US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or other related technical discipline, and 0 - 2+ years of directly related experience; or a Master's degree.
Knowledge of quantum computing.
Knowledge of Amazon Bracket quantum cloud service.
Experience preparing and conducting analysis and reports.
Experience briefing results to a broad, diverse audience.
Working knowledge of the MS Office suite of tools, including MS Project.Desired Qualifications: Prior experience working with NASA programs and projects.
Prior experience working in a quantum laboratory performing communication experiments.
An active Secret clearance.
Target Salary Range $51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
