Our firm works with clients in a number of industries and has a rapidly growing restaurant and hospitality division that serves clients nationwide.

We are looking for an in-person only Systems Engineer in the Topeka office. Full-time availability is needed, 40 hours per week. After initial training of approximately 6 - 8 months, a hybrid-remote work schedule may be discussed.

If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have experience keeping the computer network running smoothly; reviewing and analyzing software and hardware needs; recommending changes and upgrades where applicable; and providing efficient, effective, and timely service to Mize employees and clients.

Responsibilities include:

Maintaining Windows & Linux (RedHat/CentOS) servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, group policy

Supporting network technologies including firewalls, routers, switches; wireless access points; VLANS; routing

Microsoft Exchange 2013, SPAM filtering; Postfix

VMWare VSphere & ESXi, storage networking with SAN, NAS, DAS technologies

Disaster Recovery preparedness utilizing backup & replication

Security including antivirus, system and process logging, 2-factor authentication, disk encryption

Understanding how hardware, software and network changes affect business processes, security and disaster recovery

Providing tier three/four support for helpdesk team on advanced issues concerning internal and external clients

Research, evaluate and propose hardware, software and procedural changes to meet the needs of business units

Ability to work hours necessary to meet deadlines for work assigned

Occasional same day travel for work at client's offices, meetings and seminars

Increased workload required during certain times of the year

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

In-office work during training, due to the interaction necessary between departments and trainer. Amount of time required will vary based on the individual's experience and abilities.

Minimum High School diploma

Strong technical knowledge and skills

Demonstrated customer service aptitude

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

College degree with major in IT

Certifications or formal technical education

Familiarity with Cisco, HP Procurve, Fortinet, Veeam, Barracuda

Prior experience in an IT support role

Experience in delivery of quality client service
