Intelligent Waves has an immediate need for a Systems Engineer III to support our mission critical work in support of our government customer at Nellis AFB. Always ready. Anytime. Anywhere. Any domain. Location: This Systems Engineer III position is based in Las Vegas, Nevada at Nellis AFB. Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Travel will be reimbursed based on GSA Per Diem rates and DoD Joint Travel Regulations (JTR). Security Clearance: This Systems Engineer III must be a United States Citizen and hold a current Secret security clearance. Ability to obtain a TS/SCI eligibility. Employees are required to follow all company and customer site COVID-19 protocols. Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Deliver end-to-end systems engineering services to customers - requirements gathering, design, development, test, and documentation of solutions
Collaborate with Architecture, Operations & Maintenance, and User teams to evolve the system
Perform installation, configuration, hardening, and testing for new/updated system changes.
Develop installation, configuration, hardening and test documentation for new/updated system changes.
Provide Systems Engineering for an HyperConverged IT Systems based on:
Hardware: Dell VxRail/PowerEdge Servers, Dell Isilon/Unity Storage, Dell Wyse Thin-Clients/Laptops/Desktops
Network: Dell PowerConnect Switches, Juniper SRX/SSR Firewalls/Routers, TACLANE, GRAYPATH, and other CSfC components
Platform: VMware vSphere & Horizon VDI, Rancher RKE2
Software: Windows AD, Windows 10, Windows Server 2019, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Microsoft SQL Server, HADOOP, CHEETAS, and other mission applications
Automate/script deployment, configuration, and O&M tasks.
Diagnose and troubleshoot performance and/or configuration problems.
Develop and document CONOPS, TTP, and SOPs
Ensure all technical and architectural standards and DoD/AF Guidance
Build and maintain positive rapport and partnerships with peers and other relevant team members.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
The employee must be able to occasionally travel away from the normal duty location, to include deployments CONUS and OCONUS.
The employee must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, shift work, and/or overtime to support mission requirements.
Qualifications
List of qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in an IT related Field OR Associates Degree + 2 years related experience
DoD 8140 Certification (Security+ CE or higher)
5+ years of experience with the design/architecture, installation, and operations of hardware and software technologies listed above
Ability to physically install and interconnect IT equipment in a customer datacenter
Experience with Rancher RKE2, Linux, Containerization, and Kubernetes
