Systems Analyst

Position: Real Estate/Construction/Facilities Systems Analyst

Location: Chesapeake, VA (Hybrid must be local)

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Education: At least a bachelor s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field is required.

Job Description:

• Assess existing business processes and system capabilities, identifying opportunities and examining potential solutions to align with business goals and objectives.
• Gather business requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, and document analysis to articulate the business needs effectively.
• Evaluate information collected from various sources and resolve conflicts as necessary.
• Differentiate between user requests and the genuine underlying requirements.
• Document both current and future processes using various techniques such as cross-functional flow charts, swim lanes, process map diagrams, and other supporting documentation.
• Validate findings and secure approval from key stakeholders.
• Aid Project Managers in developing project charters, estimates, plans, and conducting business impact analyses.
• Collaborate with internal and external development resources to ensure that the solution delivers the expected business outcomes.
• Assist Quality Assurance teams in defining and executing test plans, coordinating user acceptance testing, and ensuring that the solution meets requirements and quality expectations.
• Partner with training teams to ensure smooth rollouts.
• Troubleshoot issues during project deployments as needed.
• Act as a subject matter expert for assigned business functions.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork skills, fostering positive and collaborative working relationships.
• Possess a keen attention to detail along with analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exhibit initiative, urgency, and drive to achieve results and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Work independently, managing multiple initiatives concurrently, and successfully executing them to completion.

Requirements:

• Capability to work on-site in Chesapeake, VA as necessary (possibly more frequently at the start of the engagement)
• Acquainted with applications/systems related to Real Estate, Construction, and Facilities
• Retail experience is a prerequisite
• Desired proficiency in SQL and related reporting tools
• Over 5 years of experience as a Senior Business Systems Analyst
• Proficiency in the MS Office suite, including MS Visio
• Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle
• Advanced proficiency in oral and written communication
• Strong facilitation abilities
• Working understanding of SQL, as well as system interface tools (such as APIs) and file transfer methods
