Team conducts research and development on space surveillance problems including tracking and identification of satellites, radar image exploitation, close approach monitoring and collision warning, applications of multi-sensor data fusion, and decision support. The group also develops net-centric, service-oriented architecture that networks all of these capabilities together in an integrated information system. The candidate will have entry to mid-level experience designing computer system solutions, including provisioning, configuring, and managing Linux and Windows systems. Experience hardening endpoints to meet DoD NIST/RMF/JSIG requirements and being comfortable using advanced remediation techniques is a plus. Be comfortable working independently or as a team to accomplish mission needs. Develop skills to recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the environment, including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management. Essential Functions include but are limited to:

•Perform as a Linux and Windows Systems Administrator on Small to medium government programs

•Assist in maintaining and updating the VMWare infrastructure.

•Communicate effectively with end-users at all levels of the organization

•Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network/software/system engineers, desktop technicians, project managers, end users, and IT management

•Develop and document technical processes and procedures.

•Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors; evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions

•Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases Requirements:

•Candidate must have at least a basic understanding of IT systems and concepts, including networking, storage, virtualization, and Linux OS

•Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking problems

•Possess a DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (example: Security+ CE) or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of the start date

•Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision

•Demonstrated ability to interact with others respectfully and develop productive working relationships Desired Skills:

•Linux and Windows server/workstation administration

•Experience installing and maintaining OS, development software, and security tools to RMF standards

•Experience patching software using automated tools (WSUS, Yum)

•Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, including ESXi and VCenter configuration), networking, storage, and user access

•Understanding of IT security policies and best practices (NIST, RMF, JSIG)

•Experience with vulnerability management within a collateral or higher environment

•RHEL administration.

•Solid understanding of remediating security vulnerabilities; experience hardening Linux and Windows systems per RMF and DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides

•VMware and ESXi configuration and management experience

•Up to date Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar security certification
